NEW KATY ART! HAPPY BIRTHDAY: I am a proud member of the Indy Cred All-Stars, a Yahoo club for aspiring comic book creators and self-publishers, which is where I met most of the cool cats involved in the Gumbo anthology. The iCreds are a great gang. It's a combination workshop/support group/in-joke without any of the bs or attitude you might find elsewhere. To celebrate the recent 2 year anniversary of the club, a bunch of us made birthday pics featuring our beloved characters. In that spirit, I created a piece which I like to call "Katy-Do Hentai: Party of One!" She smokes! She drinks! She bakes a cake! She does it ALL AT ONCE! Available for your viewing pleasure in two flavors: 800 x 600 -and- 1024 x 768 It makes a hell of a desktop pattern! Someone posts a topic, and we each turn in our own visual takes. Our most recent Jam challenge: Draw yourself in the style of another artist. In an effort to get better at using Illustrator, I decided to ape Scott McCloud and created my Jam piece entirely on the computer. Ladies and gentlemen: Understanding Billy K! --Billy K. WHAT IS WITH ALL THIS NEWS??? KATYDO.COM! At last, at long last, Katy-Do Hentai has the domain name she rightfully derserves! And for a moment, all is right with the internet. The synergy is killing me! Tell your friends, bookmark it, and hey, think about it for your next tattoo: KATYDO.COM is here to stay! (You know, like all those other dot-coms.) GUMBO! The second volume of the super GUMBO comics anthology has arrived and could not be more gorgeous! Don't believe me? I DO NOT BLAME YOU. JON MORRIS: Good ol' Jon Morris did this super sweet pin-up of Katy-Do Hentai for me not too long ago and it is bubblicious. It has go-power! Check it out then read his webstrip, Jeremy. Yeah, I know, there are a million webstrips out there, but this one's actually good. MATT PASTERIS: OK, this picture's over a year old now, but you really have to check out my good buddy Matt Pasteris' sexcellent rendition of Katy-Do Hentai! I've never posted it to the site before, but I'm doing it now. Then check out Matt's stuff at Mojo Mechanics. KATY JAM-BOT: I don't know where Matt Pasteris lives. I don't know what he does for a living. I only just learned his last name! But every once in a while, there's a knock on my door and there he is. Anyway, a few months ago Matt stopped by and sketched a little Katy pic. I did a quick and sloppy ink job. Then Matt turned the pic over to Gumbo-colorist extraordinaire Asa Taylor, resulting in the mighty Katy-do Jam-Bot! See more of Asa's artwork at asataylor.net. ALSO: Still available for your viewing pleasure is my 24-hour comic METAL FATIGUE, which people still seem to keep liking. It's about a robot who works a crappy day job. In my juicier moments, like to think of it as the anti-Dilbert. Please do not read Dilbert. It is part of the problem. There is hopefully lots more neat new stuff to come, including swell Katy mousepads and tee-shirts and stuff, and (finally) some sort of redesign of the site.
