PAUL ON THE HOT SEATCanada's Exclaim! music magazine speaks with Michel Rabagliati about his second career as a cartoonist, his process and his particular concerns as a Quebecois memoirist: "I want the reader to take a trip," says Rabagliati. "I want to point out little things that are Quebecois and charming and poetic, the different undulations of accents, the expressions and imagination. I don't know if Quebecois culture is going to survive; I want it to be printed somewhere." INFO: Exclaim!posted by Egon on Friday, March 28, 2003

HORROCKS SHOULDERS BURDENComicon.com's "Pulse" website interviews Dylan Horrocks in a piece primarily concerned with the end of his tenure writing DC Comics' "Hunter: the Age of Magic." Horrocks responds as well to a question about the status of Atlas and other gestating projects. "I am determined to get two issues of ATLAS out this year (plus a few other things)," says Horrocks, implicating a difficult "cartoonist's block" for delays in Atlas and Dirty Comics. "It was the biggest crisis I've been through as a cartoonist since the 'Fear of Comics' incident described in 'The Last Fox Story' (Pickle #3)." Horrocks happily reports that he is drawing again, in a more "clear line" style. "This might mean doing some redrawing of the first chapter of Atlas before it's collected in a book, but them's the breaks... And now that I'm down to one monthly book for DC again, there's a bit more time to focus on my own stuff. So be patient, grasshopper - after a long drought, the downpour is coming..."
