BY GEORGE: THE KOMPLETE HERRIMANBill Blackbeard announces a series of books collecting George Herriman's non-Krazy Kat comic strips in a message posted to the Platinum Age Comics mailing list. Says Blackbeard: "Upcoming from Spec [Productions] is the first volume of a collected complete run of all of George Herriman's non-Krazy Kat daily strips, from Baron Mooch and Gooseberry Sprigg thru Stumble Inn, including all of The Dingbat Family and The Family Upstairs, reprinted in full original size in several oversized volumes, to appear over the next few years... The title of the series is -- of course -- By George: The Complete Daily Comic Strips of George Herriman Before & After Krazy Kat." Blackbeard is also at work collecting Harry J. Tuthill's "The Bungle Family," due in 2004, and has written an introduction to "'The Huckleberry Kids at War,' a stiff-covered pamphlet which reprints complete in full original size R F Outcault's daily panel strip from the N Y Evening Journal of 1898." Both projects are also published by Spec Productions. INFO: Platinum Age Comicsposted by Egon on Friday, April 25, 2003
